Christmas & New Year opening hours for supermarkets!
I know you may not be able to think of anything worse than hitting the supermarkets over the Christmas and New Year period, however sometimes it can’t be helped and we may need to brave it.
For that reason you might want to familiarise yourself with the opening hours first to avoid driving all the way there, only to find It’s shut!
Most Asda stores around the country will be open until 7 or 8 pm on Christmas Eve, and closed on Christmas Day.
Asda will be open on Boxing Day, but not 24 hour. Opening times will be 9am – 6pm and similar hours will apply for December 27th and 28th.
The bigger Morrisons stores will be open every day except for Christmas Day over the holiday period.

Most Tesco stores will be closed on Christmas Day. The supermarket will be open on Boxing Day from 9am – 6pm.
Some will be open on New Years Day 9am-6pm but check here to see if your local will be open.
All Lidl stores will be closed on Christmas Day, however opening times for the rest of the holiday period are store specific.

The majority of Aldi stores will open from 8am – 6pm on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Stores will be open from 10am – 4pm on Sunday December 27 and normal service will be in operation from Monday 28 – Wednesday 30.
On New Year’s Eve, most stores will open 8am – 6pm, but will be closed on New Year’s Day.
Sainsbury’s stores will be closed on Christmas Day but will be open from 7am – 9pm on Christmas Eve.
Some stores will be open on Boxing Day 9am – 9pm and will be open 7am – 10pm on New Year’s Eve.
