The news of a Dirty Dancing TV remake has me slightly torn
Whilst it may not be money saving, this is huge news for women (and men!) around the world!
Set in the summer of 1963, Dirty Dancing is the most amazing love story of all time about 17-year-old Baby, originally played by Jennifer Grey, who falls for her dance instructor, Johnny Castle – played by Patrick Swayze.
I am a HUGE fan of Dirty Dancing and I can’t wait to see the remake, however, the thought of Dirty Dancing without Patrick Swayze makes me extremely sad – surely it won’t be anywhere near as good?
ABC are making a 3 hour musical show on TV to recapture the film we all know and love.
There was a sequel to Dirty Dancing in 2004 called ‘Dirty Dancing – Havana Nights’ which flopped – lets hope this is more popular.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to this or should they leave the classic well alone?
ABC have now confirmed the debut will be May 24th at 8pm, I am trying to find out the UK date so keep checking back!

Dancer and actor Colt Prattes is to play Jonny
I think we can cope looking at him for an hour or two… Photo credit to his Facebook page.
Oscar-nominee Abigail Breslin will play Baby
She has such a young face just like Jennifer Grey, she looks perfect for the role. Photo credit to her Facebook page.
Penny will be played by the one and only Nicole Scherzinger
Theres no denying she can dance, I think she’ll be great in this role. Photo credit to her Facebook page.
Mrs Houseman will be played by the beautiful Debra Messing from Will & Grace
I haven’t seen anything with Debra in it but I’m sure she’ll be fab. Photo credit to her Facebook page
