About ITunes Gift Cards

Go to the itunes Store here  – itunes Store (opens itunes, so click launch when prompted)

When I was growing up Gift cards were one of those Birthday or Christmas presents that I actually dreaded – I know that sounds ungrateful but they automatically reduced my options for what I wanted to buy (many shops that I liked just didn’t sell them – and my Grandmas and Aunties certainly didn’t shop where I shopped!). As a result loads of them lay, unspent, in a drawer until they expired.

With the arrival of Apple’s iTunes store (and online shopping in general) the world of Gift Cards changed forever. Now my kids actually ask for iTunes Gift Cards and vouchers when it comes to their Birthday and Christmas lists – and when you look at the massive choices Apple offers you in the iTunes Store you can see why!

What can you buy with your iTunes Gift Card?

Well, pretty much any media you like these days – but here are the main things on offer:

Music Downloads – iTunes is one of the biggest and best places to go if you want to download music, with single tracks or full albums available cheaper than buying a CD on the high street, there’s no need to wait for delivery as you can have all the music you want downloaded in seconds.

Whether you want to download iTunes music to your iPhone, iPad, Mac or iPod you can even set up playlists for parties or for sharing with your friends.

Did you know that with many albums bought on CD from Amazon now you get to download the music for free from the I Tunes store too? It’s a brilliant way to share the music and if you are buying someone a CD as a gift, you can get the same album downloaded completely free, so everyone wins!

Movie and TV Downloads – as well as music, Apple offers thousands of movies and TV shows on the iTunes Store. From classic old films and TV shows to the newest releases you can be pretty sure you will find something to keep you entertained. You can rent movies and TV shows (or whole Box Sets if you like) in High or Standard Definition (Standard being cheaper usually by at least £1) or buy them and keep them on your account forever and watch them on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or iPod (or all of the above if your kids each have something different!). You can download music with an iTunes Gift Card or their Apple Music Gift Card.

Apps – Apps for iPhones, iPads and even connected TVs are massive these days (how many of you guys regularly watch TV via Netflix, BBC iPlayer, ITV Player or More4?). Millions of Apps are available to download from the iTunes Store. If you’re looking for video games to play (everything is here from Star Wars Lego games to Angry Birds, Flappy Birds and FIFA 16) or something more useful like Google Maps or news Apps like BBC and SKY News, you can pick some up completely FREE and some you might pay a few pence or a couple of pounds for.

The point is if you’re looking for entertainment, or to give someone a massive choice of things to keep them entertained for their Birthday or Christmas gift, you can get an awful lot out of an iTunes Gift card.

iTunes Gift cards can be bought online here and you can buy them from £10 upwards. You can also send them as an actual card (which is nice as it’s something to open as a gift) or you can have Apple email the Voucher Code over to the recipient directly.

If we find any discounted Gift Cards we will make sure we share them on this page – if you find some please add them to my website here or send them to [email protected]
