Supermarket giant Tesco is pulling one of one of their ready meals from sale after the packaging failed to state that milk was included in the product.
The Cottage Pie and Sausage and Mash meals made by Hearty Food Company are feared to cause allergic reactions to those who are dairy intolerant.
The intolerance is common in many people and therefore the store is issuing an urgent recall.
Sufferers of the intolerance may experience symptoms including vomiting, stomach ache, colic, diarrhoea and constipation.
The dishes included in the recall are the Hearty Food Company Cottage Pie with the use by dates of;
- 24th, 27th, 28th and the 30th April 2018
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th of May 2018
The Hearty Food Company Sausage and Mash is also affected, and those include the use by dates of;
- 25th, 26th, and 29th April 2018.
- 1st and 2nd May 2018.
In a statement included on the recall notice the store said; “We have been made aware by our supplier that due to a manufacturing error certain date codes of the Hearty Food company chilled Cottage Pie and chilled Sausage and Mash may contain small quantities of milk.”
“These products should not contain milk and as such milk will not be declared on the packaging.”
No other products by the brand or supermarket are thought to be affected by the recall.
